It’s been a while since we dropped something here on the blog. The November Teen Encounter is just around the corner. The Team is gearing up and wheels are in motion to make this a spectacular weekend. God is good! All the time!

Check this song out. This is one of our favorites!

Matthew 5:13-16

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Give me Strength!

It's snowing and the shovel is staring us in the eye. It's only a matter of time before we're going to need to accept that we're going to have to get out there and move some snow.

Are there other "storms" that come into our lives that put some sort of obstacle in front of us? Do we need to find some sort of spiritual strength to move those obstacles out of the way?

Isaiah 40:31
31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

I can't feel You like others around me
I don't feel like kneeling or closing my eyes
Is there something wrong with my heart that I can't see?
Or do You feel love still when nobody cries?

Pre Chorus:
So I'll praise You if I never feel You
And I'll love you cause I know You're there
And if You should choose so I'm sure one day I'll feel it
But feeling good's never the reason I cared

Father, I praise You because You are
Jesus, I love You because You are
Spirit, I worship You because You are
And if no one can see that Your love's moving me
I worship You still and forever will
Because You are

Verse 2:
'Cause I know in my heart how bad I want to touch You
You must sense this love my soul barely contains
No lack of desire in this desert to worship
I keep singing skyward it just never rains

Pre Chorus:
So I'll praise You if I never feel You
And I'll love you cause I know You're there
And if You should choose so I'm sure one day I'll feel it
But feeling good's never the reason I cared

Father, I praise You because You are
Jesus, I love You because You are
Spirit, I worship You because You are
And if no one can see that Your love's moving me
I worship You still and forever will
Because You are

I can't feel You like others around me
I don't feel like kneeling or closing my eyes
Is there something wrong with my heart that I can't see?
Or do You feel love still when nobody cries?

God's Love

"....return to me with all your heart,,," (Joel 2:12).

Loving Father, I am sorry for all the ways I have offended You, Knowingly or unknowingly.  I have sinned in thought, word and deed. I have sinned in what I have done, and what I have failed to do. I come before You and ask for the grace of a deeply repentant heart.  You know my innermost secrets.  I open my heart to You today and ask You to show me the ways I have blocked the flow of Your love.  Forgive me, Father, for all my sins, faults and failings.. For all the time I have gone astray and not chosen life, I am deeply sorry. I repent of lack of faith, acting in fear instead of faith, unbelief in Your goodness, or lack of truly believing in Your love for me.

Jesus loves you,

God loves you, He always has, and He always will.

+ God loves you even when you don't love Him.
+ God's love never quits.
+ God loved you before you were born.
+ God loves you when He is correcting you.
+ God wrote His love in red.
+ God carved His love in stone.
+ God loves you and wants you with Him forever.
+ God's love changes everything.
+ God is Love.
+ God's Love is Uncaused.
+ God's Love is unending.
+ God's Love is unlimited.
+ God's Love is unconditional.
+ God Loves His Son and God loves you.
+ God Loves the world
+ God Loves you.

"....I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you (Jeremiah 31:3).

God bless you,

Lord Jesus, I forgive myself for being lazy, for always getting into trouble, for exaggerating. For insulting people; for gossiping; for not respecting my parents; for using bad language especially for taking the Lord's name in vain.  For not going out looking for a job, for getting fired from a Job and not being able to live up to the goals I have set for myself, I am truly forgiving my self today.

Lord Jesus, I also forgive myself for any unforgiveness, especially toward myself; for judging others; for hurting my boyfriend or girlfriend and for being dumped by my boyfriend or girlfriend.  I forgive myself for taking drugs, for smoking, for getting drunk, for fighting, for being involved in vandalism.  For not believing in God, for not praying and for not going to church on Sunday. I now forgive myself.

Lord Jesus, I forgive myself for hating my family; for causing fights at home; for being a bad example for my brothers and sisters; for competing, especially with my brothers and sister.  For feeling like I am a financial burden upon my family; for running away from home. Lord Jesus, I truly forgive myself.

Lord Jesus, help me to forgive myself for being vain, envious, for bad books and for inappropriate movies on the internet, for having impure thoughts, for lewd conduct, for promiscuous behavior, for masturbation, for participating in sexual relationship, for having an abortion, for getting pregnant. I forgive myself for getting someone pregnant.  Lord Jesus, thank You for setting me free.

Jesus loves you,

A Love Letter

I love you! I shed My own blood for you to make you clean. You are new! Believe it is true! You are lovely in My eyes, and I created you to be just are you are. Do not criticize yourself or be discouraged for not being perfect in you own eyes. This leads only to frustration. I want you to TRUST ME, one step, one day at a time.  Dwell in My power and love. Be free --- be yourself.  Don't allow other people to ruin you.  I will guide you if you let Me.  Be aware of My presence in everything.  I give you love, joy, peace. Look to Me. I am your shepherd and will lead you. FOLLOW ME only! Listen and I will tell you My will.  I love you, I love you! Let it flow from you – spill over to all you touch.  Be not concerned with yourself.  You are My responsibility. I will change you. You are to love yourself and love others simple because I love you. Take your eyes off yourself.  Look only at Me!  I lead; I change; I make, but not when you are trying. I won't fight your efforts.  You are mine.  Let Me have the joy of making you like Christ. Let Me love you! Let Me give you joy, peace and kindness, No one else can. Do you see?  You are not your own. You have been bought with blood and now you belong Me.  It is not your concern how I deal with you.  You only command is to look to Me and Me alone. Never to yourself and never to others. I love you.  Do not struggle.  Relax in My love. I know what is best and will do it with you, in you and through you.  My will is perfect. My love is sufficient .  I will supply all your needs.
Look to Me,

I love you,

Lord Jesus, I forgive myself for my sins, faults and failings. For all that is truly bad in myself or all that I think is bad, I do forgive myself.

Lord Jesus,  I forgive myself for thinking I am not good looking enough, for being to fat or too skinny, for not being popular, for feeling I have no outstanding talents, for not be athletic, for not being smart, for doing badly in school, for lying, cheating, for stealing, for being a problem in classroom.  Lord Jesus,  I truly forgive myself this day.

The Transfiguration

Peter, James, and John: for the reason these three were chosen.

Disciples, Inner Circle:  Peter, James, and John apparently formed an inner circle around Jesus.  Jesus revealed more to these three men than to other disciples.  They were with Him when He raised Jairus' daughter, when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, and here on the mount of transfiguration. Why were these three chosen to receive these additional revelations?

What is known is this.  Each was being chosen for a very special leadership role.  They were not aware of it yet, but they were to fill unique positions.

1. Peter was to be the leader of the early church,  the one who was to open the door of the Gospel to both Jew and Gentile after Pentecost
(Acts 2: 1f; 10:1). Peter became first Pope of Rome.

2. James was to be the head of the Church's which was to be at Jerusalem (Acts 15:13).

3. John was to receive The Revelation from God to close out the Scripture.

Jesus is calling you to a special leadership role, you may not be aware of it yet.  The Challenge is can you go up the Mountain with Jesus.

God bless you,
OHPC (Our House Prayer Community).

The Transfiguration of our Lord Jesus Christ‏

Saint Matthew Chapter 17: 1-9

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain apart. And he was transfigured before them,  and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light. Moses and Elijah, talking with him.  And Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is well that we are here; if you wish, I will make three booths here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."  He was still speaking, when lo, a bright cloud overshadow them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased listen him." When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces, and were filled with with awe.  But Jesus came and touched them saying,  "Rise, and have no fear,"
And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.  And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, "Tell no one the vision, until the Son of man is raised from the dead.

July 30th: Bible Heroes: Isaiah! Christian and Juan shared about one of our greatest prophets: Isaiah. Christian's example of standing up for his faith the way Isaiah did regardless of the nonbelievers around him is very inspiring. Juan illustrated to us how trusting in The Lord like Isaiah did has lead him to becoming a leader in our community and at school in ways he never imagined.

August 6th: Palanca Party!

August 13th: Transfiguration Mass!

It's a new week with a whole list of new updates. Here's what's been going down on Thursday nights:

July 9: Faith vs Nature with special guests Steve and Deb Shank! We had a powerful and open discussion about proper dating, dangers of drug and alcohol use, pornography, and other issues facing teens today. The community stood united in the teachings of the Catholic Church and will no doubt stand firm in their beliefs despite the temptations that can prop up during summer vacation.

July 16: Ben shared about his Bible Hero: Jonah! In the 4 brief chapters of Jonah, we learn about how he turned down the Lord's call to go to Nineveh and proclaim the word of God but eventually accepted the call after being tested by the Lord..in a giant fish. Ben connected this story to his own life as he continues to grow as a leader in this community despite initially turning down the call after his original weekend.

July 23: Adoration Night. As the night started in the Seminary Chapel, Fr. Larry introduced a new song to the community "Down to the River to Pray." We learned that we as a community needed to come together and pray together with a night of praise, worship, scripture reading, spontaneous prayer, confession and healing.

July 30: Juan Carlos and Christian will be sharing about "Isaiah." Hope you can join us!
